recipe note: easy

1 frozen pie crust - thawed
4 large granny smith apples - peeled, cored, and sliced
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
2 TBS butter - divided into 4
whipped cream - for serving

preheat oven to 375 F. roll out dough on a floured surface. you want the dough to be larger than the pie plate so that you can fold it over the apples to create the tart look. place dough in pie plate. fill with apples and toss with sugar and cinnamon. dot the butter on the apples and fold over the the crust. bake for 45 minutes or until the filling is slightly bubbly and the crust is golden. allow to cool and serve immediately or store in fridge, can be made up to three days in advance. best with whipped cream!
